Message notifications keep agents alert to new customer messages in real time, ensuring no interaction is missed. This guide will help you enable and test browser notifications for MiCC and MCX users working within Mitel Ignite.
Before enabling notifications:
If you’re using Mitel Ignite, make sure it’s loaded over HTTPS.
- Notifications and sound permissions are only supported over secure connections (e.g.
https://ignite.talkative.network).

Mitel provides built-in browser and sound notifications for new interactions. Follow these steps to activate them:
- While Ignite is open in your browser, click the padlock icon to the left of the address bar.
- Make sure Notifications and Sound are both set to Allow.
- Reload the page to apply any changes.


📌 Manually Re-Enabling Notifications
If you weren’t prompted to allow notifications, or you accidentally blocked them, follow the steps below to re-enable permissions manually in your browser.
🌐 Chrome
- Open Mitel Ignite in Chrome.
- Click the padlock icon to the left of the web address.
- Under Notifications, change the setting from Block or Ask (default) to Allow.
- Refresh the page to apply your changes.

🦊 Firefox
- Open Mitel Ignite in Firefox.
- Click the padlock icon beside the web address.
- Click the X next to the “Send Notifications” permission to clear the old setting.
- Reload the page — Firefox will prompt you again.
- When asked, click Allow.
