Inventory & ownership
- We maintain an inventory of assets; inventory items have descriptions and assigned active owners.
- The inventory specifically tracks which resources contain user data.
Classification
Data is classified into three tiers (Confidential, Internal, and External), with handling requirements appropriate to each. Customer data and personal data are treated as Confidential, our highest-protection tier. (See Data Management & Privacy.)
Return & decommissioning
- When personnel leave, assets are returned as part of a documented offboarding process.
- Equipment and media are decommissioned under a defined asset-return and decommissioning procedure, and certificates of destruction are obtained for destroyed media.
