Talkative uses Twilio to power SMS and related messaging features. If you already have your own Twilio subaccount, you can choose to connect it to Talkative instead of using a Talkative-managed account.
This is commonly used where:
- You already own phone numbers within Twilio
- Your numbers are registered under an existing A2P campaign
- You’ve previously used Twilio with another supplier
- You want to retain direct control over your messaging configuration
What We Need From You
To connect your Twilio subaccount, please provide:
- Account SID (for the subaccount)
- Auth Token (Secret)
Our admin team will then attach this subaccount as an additional service configuration to your Talkative account.
How It Works
Your Twilio subaccount is added alongside your existing Talkative-managed configuration.
In most cases:
- Core Talkative services remain on the Talkative-owned primary subaccount
- Your Twilio subaccount is used specifically for the messaging services and numbers you want to manage directly
This gives you flexibility while keeping your broader Talkative setup unchanged.
Support & Debugging Considerations
Because the Twilio subaccount is owned and managed by you:
- Talkative does not have direct visibility or control by default
- Issues within the subaccount (e.g. configuration, compliance, number setup, A2P registration) may affect messaging performance
- If debugging is required, a Talkative engineer may need temporary access to your Twilio subaccount to investigate
Providing access promptly will help avoid delays in resolving issues.
Billing Considerations
If you bring your own Twilio subaccount:
- You are responsible for all Twilio charges (messages, number rental, carrier fees, A2P registration, etc.)
- These costs will not be billed through Talkative
If required, we’re happy to arrange a commercial discussion to clarify how this integrates with your existing agreement.
If you’d like to proceed with connecting your Twilio subaccount, please contact our support team with the required credentials and we’ll handle the setup.
