Adjust chat widget dimensions, positioning & full screen mode

Modified on Tue, 23 Jul at 1:46 PM

Make the widget taller/wider, remove scrollbar, adjust the x/y positioning of the widget, and make the widget fullscreen.

Please ensure your widget is on 0.44 version or higher.

1.Widget Position

For adjusting the position of the minimised chat bubble, please visit this guide: Custom minimised chat buttons

If you wish to edit the x/y position of the open/active chat widget, you can do so in the Theme settings.

Navigate to the Widget Editor and go to "Theme"

You can edit the values for Horizontal Offset and Vertical Offset.

Note, this will only apply to non-mobile devices (where the widget is not fullscreen).

You can use px, %, or em values.

Generally speaking, we'd recommend using % values to best accommodate for varying screen sizes.

2. Height & Width

Go to widget editor and click on "Screen"

Widget Width sets the width of the widget in Standby and Active phases.

Widget Max Height sets the max height of the widget in Standby. Note, the Max Height will be the actual height of the widget in the Active phase.

3. Fullscreen thresholds

By default, Talkative will go "fullscreen" on mobile devices.

You can override this, e.g. for making a fullscreen widget on a kiosk tablet or desktop website page.

To do this, untick the "disable auto fullscreen" and adjust the thresholds appropriately.
