419 Status Code When Performing Actions

Modified on Fri, 20 Dec at 4:25 PM

There will be occasions when you attempt to click to complete a form, such as a login or password reset form and you get an error response of 419, this is due to an expired CSRF token.

CSRF Tokens, or Cross Site Request Forgery tokens are tokens issued by our server to prevent cross site requests. These tokens are short lived and are tied to your user session.

If you see an error, it means the CSRF token stored in your browser has expired and is no longer valid. This is normal expected behaviour and does not represent an error with the Talkative systems.

To resolve this issue, we recommend a hard refresh of your browser. This can be done in Google Chrome by pressing ctrl +shift + r, or by clearing all of the website data for the website. If the problem persists, then some of the browser storage is not being release and you should try an incognito window.

This error is usually infrequent, however it can be seen more often for users who have multiple user accounts across different tenants in the Talkative environment. Regular clears of the browser cache and storage will help reduce the frequency of this reoccuring.
